Jack Flaherty’s night is done for the Dodgers after he gave up another run in the bottom of the second. Anthony Volpe doubled, moved to the third on a fielder’s choice and came home on an Alex Verdugo single.

The only time the Yankees got a runner to second base against Buehler came when Giancarlo Stanton doubled in the fourth. The three have combined for a 1.62 ERA, the lowest by a team’s first three starters in the World Series since Cleveland in 2016.
Anthony Volpe delivered the biggest hit for the Yankees this entire series: a grand slam that erased the lead the Dodgers got when Freddie Freeman notched a home run in a record-setting sixth straight World Series game.
