An honest system of bullet and cannonball ballistics based on physics is an innovative addition to the Cossacks engine. Other engine features include 3-dimensional landscaping which creates realistic-looking scenery and towns which impact combat tactics. For example the firing range of a subdivision of soldiers or a cannon positioned at the top of a hill is greater than the firing range of a unit stationed on flat terrain.
But yet the war is not over, and the enemy is not stopping. Right now our families and friends are either trying to find shelter from bombings or are actively assisting those who has already suffered from the occupants.

Star wars open world game
You might hear a radio message come over your speeder bike’s police scanner, pointing you to a cache of stolen Imperial supplies for a quick dose of combat and item gathering. You can spare a few credits for a stranger who’ll tell you all about the secrets held by the mysterious wind tunnels on the other side of the map. Or perhaps, stumble on a speeder bike enthusiast on the roadside who’ll challenge you to a race.
I haven’t spoken much about Star Wars Outlaws’ characters or story, mostly to avoid spoilers. I will say that I really came to like Kay over time, and that the crew members she recruits for the heist are an interesting bunch. Gedeek, a nervy and idealistic droidsmith whose banter with Kay paints a fun picture of their childhood friendship, is a standout. However, Kay simply doesn’t spend enough time with these shipmates to truly sell or explore their connections, and a couple of late-game narrative turns rely on believing that certain characters are fast friends when the game hasn’t really provided enough to support that. Massive does find dimension in Kay over the critical path’s 35-40 hours. I enjoyed having a protagonist who would call the Rebellion on their bullshit when necessary, for example, when so many Star Wars stories are sharp binary, good-versus-evil tales where the Rebels are bastions of heroism.
What’s amazing is that, despite those issues, I still look fondly on almost all of my time with Outlaws. There are frustrations at every step, but Outlaws wildly succeeds with its big memorable moments and sense of place. Not since Knights of the Old Republic has there been a Star Wars game that feels as vibrant and exciting to simply spend time in. Walking around bustling cities and underworld hubs never got old, especially as I could hear rumors popping up left and right, catch some Imperials giving someone a hard time, or watch a courier frantically trying to reach his destination.
While Toshara fits the mold of a traditional open world, with big open fields dotted by points of interest, the locations in Outlaws also offer quite a bit of variety in structure and scale. I spent some time on the planet of Kijimi, the icy planet introduced in Rise of Skywalker, and this map is predominantly set in one large town. It’s still open-ended, and there are still side quests to undertake and optional areas to explore, but it’s much more constrained compared to the big desert you ride around in on Toshara.
